Enthrone Your Home This Easter

enthrone your home this Easter with image of Sacred Heart of Jesus

Bishop Robert J. Brennan is encouraging all of us to take this time during the Pandemic to pray regularly with our families. He’s also encouraging us to do something special for Easter, to enthrone our homes to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

All you need to perform the enthronement is downloadable from welcomehisheart.com. It’s simple to follow and it will be a special gift to your family.

Fr. Stash Daily talks about The Greatest Drama:

Jesus spoke to St. Maragaret Mary Alacoque and made these 12 promises for those who would respond to the pleading of His Heart and make an effort to return His love.

1.  I will give them all the graces necessary in their state of life.
2. I will establish peace in their homes.
3. I will comfort them in all their afflictions.
4. I will be their secure refuge during life, and above all, in death.
5. I will bestow abundant blessings upon all their undertakings.
6. Sinners will find in My Heart the source and infinite ocean of mercy.
7. Lukewarm souls shall become fervent.
8. Fervent souls shall quickly mount to high perfection.
9. I will bless every place in which an image of My Heart is exposed
and honored.
10. I will give to priests the gift of touching the most hardened hearts.
11. Those who shall promote this devotion shall have their names
written in My Heart.
12. I promise you in the excessive mercy of My Heart that My all powerful love will grant to all those who receive Holy Communion
on the First Fridays in nine consecutive months the grace of
final perseverance; they shall not die in My disgrace, nor without
receiving their sacraments. My divine Heart shall be their safe refuge in this last moment.

Day of Prayer and Penance

Our Bishop, Robert J. Brennan, has called for a special day of prayer and penance for the sick and those who care for them on Friday, March 27, 2020.

In support of his call, St. Gabriel Radio will have at the top of each hour a local priest for 10-15 minutes of prayer and encouragement.  We will do this from 8AM-5PM and rejoin our regularly scheduled programming during these hours.

We hope you will join us this Friday – listening and praying with your community!

Pope Francis has also called us to join with the world in prayer through the extraordinary blessing “urbi et orbi”. Pope Francis will preside outside of St. Peter’s Basilica with the square empty as everyone is invited to participate spiritually. The blessing will occure at 1 p.m. ET on Friday. Read more about that here and watch this short video about the blessing from the U.S Conference for Catholic Bishops.

St. Gabriel Radio will carry EWTN’s broadcast of Pope Francis’ blessing Friday, March 27 at 1PM and 8PM.

Light & White:

Light – From Fr. Stash Dailey, paster of Holy Family Columbus, Ohio: I offer you a simple suggestion and extend an invitation to participate in a gesture of hope. Please consider placing a light in your window at night. You know the kind, the ones we see at Christmas time! That tradition started in the homes of the faithful who were deprived of the Holy Mass because of persecution. They would place a light in the window and would wait for a priest to visit. The traveling priests would know the homes of the faithful by the candle, the light, in the window. We live in a moment and time of precaution. The Holy Mass is still offered, the Light of the world is still present among us. Our hunger for the Lord, our confidence in His Mercy and our trust in His love for us may be offered to the world by a simple light in our windows. This darkness will not over take us for we believe in the One who Lives!

Show your faith in God and encourage others in their faith by tying a white ribbon around a tree in your yard. This idea was offered by one of St. Gabriel radio’s board members, Lori Hamrock.

Consecrate Yourself To Jesus Through Mary

Marian Consecration Prayers Button

Consecrate yourself to Jesus through Mary using the Total Consecration According to Saint Louis Marie de Montfort.  This new program is presented by Fr. Adam Steitenberger, coordinator for evangelization for the Diocese of Columbus.

The purpose of the consecration is to rid the self of the spirit of the world and to become completely in tune with the lives of Jesus and the Mother Mary. The consecration is a 33-day-long process and starts on February 21 and ends on the Solemnity of the Annunciation of Our Lord, March 25, 2020.

Starting the morning of February 21, you can find the prayers here in our archives.

2019 High School Student Forum

On November 18, 2019 at Bishop Hartley High School, Bishop Robert Brennan joined in conversation with student representatives from Catholic High Schools around the diocese. The theme was sections 143 through 145 from Pope Francis’ Christus Vivit.

The Bishop and young adults talk about living the moment, how to remember to whom you belong, and dealing with the stresses of the modern world. Though targeted towards these young adults, there is something for all of us in Bishop’s advice.
